With more downloads in the first week than any other artist in history, Adele has smashed the record. Only one other artist has sold more copies, and that was Elton John’s Candle in the Wind (Diana tribute) back in 1991.

Streaming music continues to gain traction and for an increasing amount of music consumers is the prefered choice than paying to download. Time will tell what format fans prefer.

Adele’s latest album, 21, has already sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and is tipped to be the biggest seller of the decade.

It is remarkably hard to write any type of accolade about Adele that hasn’t already been written, I fell in love with her somewhere around Skyfall, the James Bond theme from the film of the same name, that voice, it just blows a person away, The lady herself is blessed with such a down to earth character and a real common touch, its hard not to fall in love with her a little and I confess I do, a little, every time I hear her sing.
