Christmas Number One 2015, your predictions please.
November 26, 2015 LearnMusic.Guide

The countdown for the big day is on, and so is the countdown to the Christmas chart. Who will reach the number one spot this year?  There is the usual hullabaloo in reference to the X Factor winner flying in at number one, possibly never to be seen, or heard of again. Winner Ben Haenow celebrated a number one hit last Christmas but could X factor do it again?  Here are this years contenders.

Star Wars: Fans of Star Wars are going crazy with anticipation of the latest film, “The Force Awakens”! Not released until 18th December, a killer soundtrack by John Williams means our Christmas dinner could be combined with back ground music from a galaxy far, far away.

Shakin Stevens, Echoes of Merry Christmas Everyone: Classic Christmas tune “Merrry Christmas Everyone” is guaranteed to put everyone in a Christmassy spirit, even when it is only early November. So can Shakin Stevens do it again? His new version is a folksy track but retains some nostalgia that made his first Yuletide hit such a success.

Aurora, Half The World Away: Those in the know, are probably putting their money on this one. The John Lewis advert gets better every year and this song is the soundtrack. Of course it is not a new song and Oasis fans will instantly have recognised it.

There are also contributions from Shirley Bassey, to Kylie and James Corden, together! The number one will be announced on 25th December. So watch this space.

So, who do you think we’re going to be listening to whilst carving the turkey/nut roast?

Let us know in the comments below 🙂

  • So, is it going to be an X-Factor winner? Adele? Aurora? Let us know who you think is going to be no.1 this Christmas

  • Garry Crick

    Please not X-Factor … please!

  • Not been watching XFactor so can’t say who it will be but you can guarantee that it will be another XFactor winner that will scoop Number 1. Either that or a charity single that swoops in last minute. Who knows though, perhaps Rage Against The Machine will get the top spot again!!!
