Its music festival time……isn’t it?

Thinking about heading to a music festival and your checklist is likely to run something like this, boho dress, sun tan lotion, tent, sun hat, beer and a lot of wonga. If you are heading to Glastonbury, wellies will also feature high up on that list. So as we head into December, are the music festivals not over? Oh no my misinformed friend, the fun is just beginning.

Ibiza Rocks 12-19th December: Just to confuse us, Ibiza has left the pool and gone to the piste! Les Deux Alpes to be precise, and the idea is to upgrade the apres-ski from badly themed bars to something a little more on trend. Ticket packages start from £299 and acts to be confirmed.

Groningen, The Netherlands: Taking place in January, the Eurosonic Noordeslag music festival is all about emerging talent. A university city, which annually shakes off its formal appearance and lets its hair down. Just the ticket to beat those January blues.

Wonderfruit Thailand: You are going to have to be quick to catch this one, starting on December 17th! Begin your festive season with a few rays in Thailand’s sunny Chonburi. Who will be playing? Expect to see festival favourites and emerging talent including Kidnappers, Submotion Orchestra and The Sticky Rice Band.

One of the oldest running club events is taking place in January, and I thought they would have enough exciting and fun during Christmas. The musical globetrotter has three different countries to visit during the festive season. There’s no work here, just play, and no one is complaining.
