Summary
As soon as you enter into the Drum Ambition site, you get the feeling that you have arrived in the place you have been looking for. This is a very modern site and unlike many other online resources, the page is very clean and not filled with many links to other websites. As you click to find more information you get a flavour of the site with a welcome video from Simon. The site is very easy to navigate, with a simple menu bar to the right of the page. A brief bio tells you about Simon’s experience and his objectives for starting Drum Ambition. Beginners can take advantage of the free lessons Simon has uploaded. Each video is very clear and it gives the pupil chance to tune into the teaching method, before committing to a purchase. As well as beginner lessons there is also plenty information on notation. Whilst the free section is certainly very helpful, there is also the option for a paid subscription which gives the user 24/7 access to the full curriculum of lessons, Skype support and a weekly newsletter. This is at a cost of $14,99 per month but subscription can be cancelled at any time. Furthermore there is actually the option to gift these lessons to another person. Whilst the site may be lacking a forum in which users can discuss and share ideas, support is available through email. Whilst the free lessons are very good for those who are just starting to learn, they may not currently be so valuable for those with more experience. However it is worth checking back regularly as the site clearly states it intends to upload up to at least four more modules.
